ABSTRACT

The research of bayleaf extract had done to know its potential as Culex quinquefasciatus repellent. Experiment method was used with Completely Randomized Design which consists of six treatments and four repetitions. The treatment with concentration level consists of 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%. Data was analyzed by analysis of variance and HSD. The results of this research showed the average of C. quinquefasciatus amount which repelled bayleaf extract lowest in 0%, that was 41,5 individu and highest in 50%, that was 47,75 individu. Analysis of variance indicated that amount of C. quinquefasciatus which avoided bayleaf extract was significantly different. Based on the result, it can be concluded that bayleaf extract is potential as C. quinquefasciatus repellent. Information of this research is hoped to become the contextual alternative example in second semester of biology learning of tenth grade.
